Time Person of the Year is the annual issue of the United States based news magazine, TIME. It features and presents a person, an idea, or a group who has done the good deed to influence the events of the year.
For the year 2017, Time Person of the Year include celebrities like Taylor Swift and Ashley Judd. The issue that has been covered this year is against the sexual harassment. The theme of 2017’s issue is “The Silence Breakers” – the thousands of people all over the world who confronted about the experiences of sexual harassment and assault.

The runners-up for this year Time Person of the Year includes Trump (#2), and the president of China: Xi Jinping (#3). An American actress and political activist Ashley Judd, shared the story of sexual harassment against Harvey Weinstein. She can be seen on the cover alongside the Taylor Swift, who strongly sued a radio DJ that groped her.
Let’s have a look at the story behind these Silence Breakers.
Judd says, “I began speaking about the Harvey the moment that it happened.” She added, “I immediately left the hotel room at the Peninsula Hotel in 1997 and headed straight at the basement. ” She has been confronting about this incident to everyone. But then Weinstein denies the fact.
The act of Weinstein was the open secret in Hollywood, Judd said. It is just after the #Metoo hashtag by different celebrities, the harassment case became stronger.
Taylor Swift also confronted incident with David Mueller. After she complained about the incident that he had reached under her skirt and groped her butt during an event, Mueller was and then fired; in the response, he accused her millions in damages. In return, Swift counter-sued for a symbolic 1 USD and then won.
These were some bold personalities who were brave enough to come up against the darkness they faced.
