The MBL relief pitcher Joe and CBS Sports anchor Allie met her now-husband Joe in the year 2011 when LaForce was working with FOX 8. Despite proposing Allie in the year 2013, the romantic couple tied their knot on 17 January 2015 in Cleaveland.

The Angels pitcher, Joe’s mother was diagnosed with an incurable Huntington’s disease in the year 2012. The inherited disease causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain. Likewise, Joe has a 50% chance of inheriting the disease and has confessed to test before deciding to have children of his own.

Smith and his wife, Allie formed a foundation to raise funds to battle Huntington’s disease. The organization aims to help improve the quality of life for those affected by the disease by contributing financial, emotional and mental support. Furthermore, the foundation is trying to find a cure for the dreadful disease.

The lovebirds had their auspicious wedding ceremony at University Circle United Methodist Church and reception at the Old Courthouse in Cleaveland, Ohio. However, only the family members and very few close friends attended the private event. Moreover, photographs or autographs was not allowed with the couple at the ceremony.
