Tantangan generasi sekarang dengan jaman saya berbeda, jaman saya kuliah dulu, tidak ada internet, ponsel dan lain-lain. Mahasiswa sekarang mempunyai banyak sekali pilihan untuk mengakses informasi dan pengetahuan. Bahkan sekarang mahasiswa juga dapat dengan mudah mendapatkan beasiswa dari Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan (LPDP). Saat ini peraih beasiswa LPDP dari UI ada 1500 mahasiswa. Jaman saya dulu, saya harus bekerja tambahan siang malam untuk dapat menyelesaikan PhD saya di luar negeri karena beasiswa hanya cukup untuk 18 bulan, padahal kuliah S2 dan S3 harus diselesaikan dalam 4 tahun. Saya sudah biasa membaca buku sejak kecil, termasuk juga menikmati membaca text book saat kuliah. Kebiasaan ini terbawa sampai sekarang. Walaupun tidak langsung selesai membaca satu buku dalam satu kali baca, selepas bekerja, saya sempatkan membaca buku novel dan otobiografi dan mendapatkan inspirasi dari kisah-kisah tersebut. Kebiasaan lain semasa kuliah yang masih saya lakukan sampai sekarang adalah menulis, terutama menulis tentang persepsi, mengenai perasaan, mengenai masalah keadilan dan lain-lain.
