Unfortunately, the talented boxer Patrick Day died on Tuesday, October 16, 2019, in Chicago from a traumatic brain injury. He died after four days of being in a coma after being knocked out at 10th round by boxer Charles Conwell on Saturday, October 12, at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago.
On October 12, Charles Conwell shared an emotional letter on his Instagram account regarding his concern for Patrick Day and the fight had placed upon him.
Charles wrote. “I never meant for this which happen to you. All I wanted to do was win. If I could take it back I would. No one deserves this to happen. I replay the fight many times thinking what if this never happened and why did it happen. I prayed for you many times because I couldn’t imagine how my family and friends would feel.”
