She was discharged on her 78th birthday. She suffered several small strokes layer. She has hospitalized again in August after a mild heart attack and a stroke. She has released again and underwent physiotherapy at home to get rid of her problem.

It was later known that she suffered from an advanced stage ovarian cancer. Coretta Scott King death occurred on the 30th of January, 2006 in a rehabilitation center owing to respiratory failure from the complications of ovarian cancer.
