Both of her parents were very accomplished people. Her mother Brenda was an actress, poet, theater operator, activist, acting teacher and therapist by profession. Her father Lewis was an actor and a director by profession. The actress herself said that sex-reassignment is physically impossible and all you can do is adopt these superficial characteristics but the biology will never change.

At the age of 47, she died and actually she was placed in a medically induced coma and died on September 11, 2016.
